About

Perched at the top of Cambridge Street on Beacon Hill, The Tip Tap Room, as its name implies, combines two of chef-owner Brian Poe’s favorite things: tips, as in that delicious, tender cut of meat, and taps, as in beer taps (and lots of them). Heavily influenced by Poe’s world travels, the menu balances traditional combinations and more imaginative selections including a wide assortment of seasonal game like elk, emu and yak. The beverage program includes 36 selections of beers on tap (including a dozen local brews) as well as craft cocktails designed as sophisticated yet approachable accompaniments to the menu.

The airy dining room is modern and sleek yet also warm and inviting. Natural wood floors are complemented by warm orange walls while black lacquered furniture contrasts comfortably with naturally-stained oak tables. Diners and drinkers can grab a seat at the bar for views of the semi-open kitchen or the flat screen TVs, or jockey for the back corner booth for a semi-private dining experience. During warm months, three retractable glass garage-style doors are opened up for fresh air and great views of Old West Church.
