With four successful Cambridge concepts under their belt, the Grafton Group extends its reach to the other side of the Charles with the opening of State Street Provisions. The welcoming contemporary restaurant brings a rustic charm to Long Wharf with a menu that's both historically-inspired and forward-thinking

Elevating simple ingredients sourced from New England purveyors, the menu relies on the pantry at the heart of the restaurant. Heavily stocked with baked breads, housemade sausages as well as preserves, pickles, cured meats and cheese, it's also home to the raw bar which boasts East Coast oysters, little neck clams, shrimp, lobster and more. Rounding out the offerings, entrees include satisfying sandwiches, a rotating fresh pasta of the day, pan-roasted fish and perfectly blistered pizzas.

After dinner service, the late night program features an array of options for night owls. Cocktail drinkers, beer lovers and wine enthusiasts alike will find that though the restaurant's roster skews adventurous, great care has been taken to help them navigate new waters: distinctive new labels are grouped by familiar styles and varietals.

State Street Provisions expertly balances a rustic spirit with a refined character. Large, airy windows, wide-paneled wood floors and walls in calm, cool tones with bright finishes are countered by booths adorned in rich tan leather and vintage-inspired lighting. An original mural depicting Long Wharf during the early 19th century lend the restaurant a nautical sensibility befitting its location on the waterfront.
