About

The only bummer about Boston waterfront dining is that you can’t see Boston from the waterfront. ReelHouse at Jeffrey’s Point in East Boston solves that problem across the harbor, letting you feast on coastal cuisine from around the globe while you feast your eyes on gorgeous views of the city’s skyline reflected in the sea. And if you’re really into keeping your dining experience nautical, you can even take a water taxi to get there.

ReelHouse delivers seafood that manages to be both sophisticated and approachable. The ocean is practically lapping at the patio, and the restaurant makes full use of its abundance with a full raw bar, casual clam bakes, and ingredients from around the world featured in dishes with fresh, local catches. And fear not, if fish isn’t your thing there are plenty of options for landlubbers, including classic soups, salads, burgers, and steaks.

Located inside The Eddy, a new luxury apartment building on the water, the restaurant’s interior was designed in the style of Riva Yachts, known for their sleek elegance and impressive woodwork. The nautical theme really ties the room together, with a soaring ceiling constructed from boat ribs, captain’s chairs lining the bar and tables, and sea-blue leather booths affording a sweeping view of Boston Harbor through floor-to-ceiling windows. In the summer months, a 133-seat oceanfront patio lets you breathe the salt air and listen to the gulls while you dine by the sea.

The restaurant features two 15-seat bars, one inside and one on the patio, where guests can sit and enjoy a wide selection of foreign, domestic, and craft beers, select from an extensive wine list, or get creative with a list of ReelHouse specialty cocktails, featuring funky riffs crafted with house-made ingredients.

If driving isn’t your thing, or you’re looking for a cool way to impress a date, there's a private water taxi to the restaurant from the Seaport, Charlestown, or Downtown (617.227.4320). Or, if you’re looking for a new way to bar hop, skip the Uber and take a shuttle boat ride between ReelHouse and its sister restaurants: The Tall Ship, ReelHouse Oyster Bar, Pier 6 in Charlestown, and ReelHouse Marina Bay in Quincy.
