About

Chefs Mark Gaier and Clark Frasier honor the art, architecture and cuisine of the Italian Renaissance (and their love of local New England ingredients) at M. C. Spiedo Ristorante & Bar. The menu reflects their passion for the old world flavors from Florence, Bologna and Venice, as well as their focus on farm-fresh ingredients. The rustic and robust offerings include antipasti, small plates, pizza, calzone and hand-crafted pastas as well as locally-sourced duck, chicken and suckling pig roasted nightly on a 40-inch steel spit for which the restaurant is named (spiedo means spit or skewer in Italian).

The 80-seat room, located inside the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel, invokes the opulent spirit of the Italian Renaissance with deep crimson curtains cloaking intimate booths, baroque-patterned chandeliers and elegant gold columns. An antipasti bar made with Vermont-sourced white carrera marble puts the theater of food preparation at center stage while Market Carts laden with charcuterie and cheese bring the energy of the kitchen into the dining room.

The beverage program will feature and an all-Italian wine list, highlighting famous varietals from each region. The beer selection includes Italian classics alongside local brews. The cocktail menu will focus on local ingredients and Italian inspiration.

M.C. Spiedo Ristorante & Bar is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
