La Motta's

The Aquitaine Group adds to its impressive and diverse portfolio with the opening of La Motta's Italian Specialties on Washington Street in the South End. The Bronx-style restaurant takes its cues from the Italian-American restaurants of the mid-20th century and evokes a simpler time when pasta and bread were made by hand and from-scratch sauce simmered on the stove. Available seven nights a week, the dinner menu highlights classics like chicken parmesan, lasagna, shrimp scampi, thin crust pizza and, of course, a variety of meatballs.

The atmosphere at La Motta's is equally evocative - warm and inviting, a throwback to another era. Reclaimed wood panels and a textured tin ceiling pair with rough sawn oak wood tables and plush booths to give the dining room the vibe of an old school Italian American \"joint.\" The restaurant boasts a 12-seat bar where guests can choose from an exclusively Italian-American wine list, a pared down selection of beers on tap and the cocktail list made up of simple, traditional cocktails executed perfectly.

Diners can plan a mini urban escape on La Motta's 30-seat outdoor patio (during the summer months) or get the whole gang together for a family-style meal in the restaurant's 28-seat private dining room at the newest addition to the Aquitaine Group family.
